Monthly Missions Opportunities

Each month, the missions committee brings a ministry to the congregation’s attention to support. We prayerfully choose organizations in need of funding that will also provide service opportunities through which we can experience and share the love of Christ.

January Monthly Mission Opportunity: Bordersville Community Center

Our monthly mission opportunity for January is Bordersville Community center. You may recall meeting Reverend Hyde last year when we introduced our partnership with them through our monthly birthday bash, where we have a chance to celebrate birthdays, share in devotionals, sit and hear stories and laugh with our new friends.

Over the past year, some beautiful friendships have been formed, and partnerships with local churches have been fostered. Just last month, we partnered with Strawbridge to bring a special Christmas celebration. This is one of our longest-standing mission partners at Kingwood Methodist, and we look forward to the many ways that the Lord will use the people of the church to grow and expand this ministry.

We are looking for about 15 volunteers to join a team that will serve, on average, about 1-2 hours/month on last Fridays around your lunch break. You don’t have to be anything but willing to love the people of God at Bordersville community center. We need people to help prepare meals, organize bingo prizes, to bring a short devotional or prayer, or simply serve our friends.

If you’re ready to volunteer, please contact Rev. Clint Wyllie.
