Music Is Ministry

Kingwood Methodist Church has a rich music ministry for people of all ages!

Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.“

We invite you to come share in the psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs as part of the music ministry at KMC.

Kingwood Methodist Concert Series

The Kingwood Methodist Concert Series was launched with the mission to bring exceptional musicians and their artistry to the local community. We believe in the transformative power of music to heal, inspire, educate, and uplift the spirit. Through these concerts, we aim to foster a deeper connection to the arts and strengthen the shared cultural experience of our community.

Contemporary Music

The Vine Band

Vine Worship, our contemporary worship community, is led in singing and praise by the Vine Band. The Vine Band is made up of a rotating group of volunteers and usually consists of three vocalists, bass guitar, drums, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and piano. Periodically, we incorporate violin, cello, and upright bass as well! Our vocal and instrumental groups are always looking for volunteers who are called to serve and share their gifts

Vine Home Team

The home team is an all-purpose hospitality team that greets pre and post service, prepares communion, and assists in special Sunday help, as assigned by pastors and worship staff. Home Team volunteers are asked to serve once a month, and all ages are welcome to serve!

Interested in participating? Please contact Director of Contemporary Worship, Ryan Stueckemann.

A/V Booth

Our music is powerful, but we couldn’t do what we do without tech support. Our tech booth consists of rotating volunteers who individually take care of running slides, mixing the sound, and directing our weekly live stream. If you love Jesus, love our church, and are gifted and/or called to serve in tech ministry, our groups are always looking to add more volunteers to lead our church in worship.

There are opportunities to serve in either Traditional or Vine services. Interested? Email Matt Robinson.

Singing masterworks choruses from Handel, Mozart, and Brahms as well as contemporary choral pieces by John Rutter, Craig Courtney, or Dan Forrest, the Chancel Choir leads the congregation in worship at the 9:30am and 11:00am services from August through June. The choir shares a positive spirit of fellowship through the preparations of anthems, hymns, and scripture presented in worship.

Men's Ensemble

Wednesdays | 8:30 - 9:00pm

Our men’s choir provides musical leadership at least once a month in the Traditional Worship Services. This growing group covers staple pieces within the TTBB literature, as well as contemporary sacred works.

Women's Chorus

Wednesdays | 8:30 - 9:00pm

The Women’s Chorus is a non-select group of women of all ages and musical backgrounds. This group sings at least once a month at the 9:30am and 11:00am services as part of the regular Sunday morning rotation. Their brief Wednesday evening rehearsals are at the end of the Chancel Choir practice and are scheduled well in advance.

Orchestra

Orchestras and instrumental ensembles are utilized during worship services and for concerts. We provide opportunities for volunteers and professionals to offer their gifts to God.

Joy Ringers

Our all-volunteer handbell choir offers the opportunity for individuals to worship God through music by the playing of handbells. Throughout the year, our handbell choir provides music for selected worship services.
