SLC is a licensed Mother’s Day Out and Preschool program in Kingwood that serves children ages 6 months to 5 yrs of age.
Mother's Day Out
For children from 6 months – 2 years old.
Classes are held on Mondays – Thursdays from 9:00am to 2:30pm.
Preschool
Classes are held Monday – Thursday with 3 and 4 day options depending on the age of the child.
Transitional Kindergarten
For children 5 years of age by October 1st.
Classes are held on Mondays – Thursdays from 9:00am to 2:30pm.

A place your child will love
Classes are available for 3 and 4-year-old children from 9:00am-2:30pm.
Low teacher/child ratios create a non-pressured environment where self-esteem is nurtured and creatively encouraged.
Each day, children learn and play through block-building, singing, listening to stories, exploring nature, drawing, painting, and developing self-help skills. Children also participate on a weekly basis in Music and Motor Skills activities, science, and Spanish.
A typical classroom is a busy, noisy, happy place where hands-on experiences are the primary learning tool.
Mother’s Day Out
Mother’s Day Out classes are available for children from 6 months – 2 years old.
Classes are held Mondays through Thursdays from 9:00am to 2:30pm.
These young children experience God’s love in a nurturing environment that facilitates a trusting child/teacher relationship.
The daily routine includes time for individual play and group activities (singing, dancing, stories, puppets, and finger plays), active outdoor play (or a stroller ride for infants), snack, lunch, and nap time.
Registration Information
Enrollment for Fall 2026-Spring 2027 opens on February 16th
The School for Little Children provides nurturing care and education for children ages six months through five years old. (Your child must be six months old by September 1). Registration occurs in the Spring for the following school year.
The School for Little Children follows the Humble ISD Elementary Calendar and will take all Elementary holidays.
Registration begins Monday, February 16th, for current SLC/KMC families. Online registration for the public opens Thursday, February 19th.
- New families: select “new account” and create a login and password by following the instructions on the link.
- Current families: Use your current SmartCare login information; do not create a new account – you will be able to add a new child to your account once logged in.
- Expected Start Date: Please enter August 24, 2026.
- Tuition Plan: All classes meet (9:00am-2:30pm) MDO classes are offered 4 days by selecting both M/W & T/Th options. Once a class is full, the tuition option will no longer be available. If your desired class is full, please select a second choice and reach out to be added to the waitlist.
- Registration/Supply fees: Registration fees are non-refundable and will be added to your SmartCare account once the online enrollment form is submitted. Please pay the registration fees on your SmartCare account within 24 hours. *Reminder- Registration is not complete until registration fees are paid. Supply fees will be added to the first month’s tuition due on September 5th.
- Required forms: All of the required forms, along with Immunization records and Health Statement (new students only) will be due the week before school starts. You may send by email to rissa.black@kingwoodmethodist.org or drop off during Parent Orientation or Meet the Teachers in August. Dates will be emailed to families in July.
