Kingwood Methodist Church

Student Ministry

The Kingwood Methodist Student Ministry is about creating spaces for students to connect to one another and Christ. We’re devoted to training & equipping students to do ministry every day in their world.

Weekly In-person Gatherings

K Students Sunday Worship

9:30am | the Loft (upstairs K building)

Going deeper is what Sunday morning is all about. Join us as we step into worship led by our Youth Worship Band, followed by a lesson given by our youth directors. We’ll dive into Scripture to better understand what the Bible says to be true of God, us, and the world.

Small Group Sunday | 4th Sunday of each month

Students dive into in-depth discussions with incredible small group leaders from around the church. Join us as we build community with one another and discuss how Scripture is implemented in our daily lives.

Our Middle School Ministry “Illuminate,” is about developing middle schoolers into disciples to go and be the Salt and Light of the Earth and our culture.

Wednesdays | 6:00-7:30pm | the Loft (upstairs K building)

**2nd Wednesday Each Month – Small Group Wednesday**

Community and Scripture are our main focus on Wednesday Nights! We spend time in fellowship, studying Scripture, and intentional time being with each other. Students experience life together here.

Summer 2024 schedule

Our High School Ministry “Elevate” is about challenging High School students to live out their faith and be an example to their peers as they step into more responsibilities and opportunities.

Sundays | 6:00-7:30pm | Host Homes
(Check Remind for Address for Host Home / Or Contact Youth Staff)

These nights are designed for high schoolers to fellowship, eat, and decompress from their week before stepping into a new one. We discuss real-life topics and what Jesus has to say about them as we dive into scripture.

Student Ministry Leadership

Blake De Llacer

Director of K Students Ministries

Hello everyone! I’m from the GREAT state of Alabama, where I was born and raised in Mobile. I served as a summer intern at KUMC for two summers, and once I graduated from the University of South Alabama (Go Jags) in December of 2019, I moved to Texas to join the KMC staff! I’m a huge sports lover, especially for the Auburn Tigers and the Boston Celtics! I believe that this generation of students are truly going to make a HUGE impact on this world; honestly, they already have. It’s a generation of leaders that are truly being shaped and molded by the gospel of Jesus Christ. I’m just blessed to be able to be a witness to it!

Director of “Illuminate” Middle School Ministries

Hey guys! I was born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico. I never would’ve thought the Lord would plan to bring me all the way here to serve Him!

I fully believe in the power of prayer and worship. I am extremely happy to learn, guide, and walk alongside our youth. God is incredibly moving in this generation, and I cannot wait to see the amazing things our youth will do in His name!

Ways to Get Involved

Illuminate and Elevate Student Leadership Teams
Our two student leadership teams allow students of any age (6th-12th grade) who have a heart for serving, encouraging, and leading others to strengthen their leadership qualities. We use a “you must be poured into, to be able to pour out” approach and thus expect these students to be actively pursuing their relationships with God. If you would like to join this team, we would love to have a conversation with you! Contact Blake de Llacer for more information!

Youth Band/AV
If you love worship and play an instrument or sing, we have opportunities for you to serve! Our AV/Band is a branch of our Student Leadership Teams. Students will help lead worship, create and manage a Sunday Morning Service, and be poured into by our incredible band volunteers (The Farmers). Contact Blake de Llacer for more info!

Student Ministry Council
Student Ministry Council is a group of dedicated and invested parents and volunteers who advise the student ministry staff and lead action teams to help extend the scope and reach of the ministry. If you’re interested, please click here.

Small Group Leader
Our small group leaders are vital to helping a large youth group feel small and personal for students. Through weekly interaction and monthly group time, these leaders walk through the thick of life with their age and gender-specific groups as they foster community and discussion in their groups. If you’re interested, please click here to sign up, and we will reach out.

Awaken Retreat Host Homes
Our Annual Prayer and Worship Retreat is from March 31st – April 2nd. Students will sleep in host homes per grade. Host Homes will serve breakfast Saturday morning and Host Friday and Saturday Night. If interested, please click here to sign up.
